ARC Audio are only relatively new to the Australian market, but have a loyal following amongst those demanding quality products worldwide. Their latest offering in their amplifier lineup is most impressive. 'XDi' offers big power in a small footprint.
The XDi range includes five models:
- XDi 804 4ch, 4x80w or 2x240w RMS, remote sub control, size: 206 x 165 x 57mm $499 RRP
- XDi 803 3ch, 2x80w + 1x400w RMS, remote sub control, variable sub phase, size: 247 x 165 x 57mm $549 RRP
- XDi 805 5ch, 4x80w + 1x400w RMS, remote sub control, variable sub phase, size: 285 x 165 x 57mm $699 RRP
- XDi 600.1 Mono, 1x400w @ 2ohm, 1x600w @ 1ohm RMS, remote sub control, variable sub phase, size: 247 x 165 x 57mm $499 RRP
- XDi 1000.1 Mono, 1x700w @ 2ohm, 1x1150w @ 1ohm RMS, remote sub control, variable sub phase, size: 285 x 165 x 57mm $649 RRP
All models in the XDi range feature built in crossovers (HP/LP 50-250Hz), Bass boost (+15dB @ 45Hz - 804, +15db variable 40-100Hz - 803 & 805, (+18dB variable 40-100Hz - 600.1 & 100.1) and built in fuse protection,
Compact amplifiers assist in overcoming installation challenges particularly with OEM integrated audio systems. ARC Audio have solved this problem with the XDi range.
Design Features
- Hybrid D class output design with discrete Subwoofer output channel (3 & 5 channel models).
- High Frequency switching power supply allows for greater separation from audible listening frequencies increasing sound quality and lowering THD.
- Input Inductor power supply isolation protects from unwanted interference in AM/FM reception.
- Ultra Low ESR high capacity power supply storage bank covers potential fluctuations in power supply demand, increasing efficiency and sound quality.
- Phillips chip based Class D Technology powers all multi channel XDi amplifiers, producing little or no heat.
- Embedded protection circuits including Thermal, Current Limit, Rollback DC Offset, Reverse Polarity and Overvoltage.
