News: Sneak Preview - JBL MS-2 Digital Audio Processor

iPods have grafted their way into just about every tech-savvy (and not so tech savvy!) vehicle owners car's now. With this trend the clever folk at JBL have released preliminary information on their latest processor dubbed the "MS-2". It's a device that is designed to be inserted in the audio signal chain between a portable music player, and an auxillary input jack.

The device offers a two-channel autotune function, through a microphone in the top. It's apparently as easy as holding the device in front of your face, press and hold 'Setup' and somewhat automagically it tunes the car.

Once setip is complete, the user can adjust the level of bass in three steps, the width of the transition band between the bass boost and the midrange, the high range and even tinker with the time alignment.

Power is conveniently easy through a cigarette lighter connection, and the MS-2 even auto-senses an audio input turning the unit on and off.

With a recommended retail price of USD$199 it costs more than most iPods themselves, but the enthusiasts will jump on this one.

Local purchase information will be made available shortly.
