Hehe don't let me change your mind, remember it was an 8" three way split I was talking about and you are looking at 6/4/tweet which will not suffer anywhere near the same amount. Do a good install and Shiny's your uncle.
There was a comp I went to about 7 or 8 years ago (God knows why this memory has suddenly decided to come back) and one guy entered with just a set of Alpine 6066's (cheap 6" splits, older version of the new "SCS" series I think they are now called). He took out SQ purely because he had an awesome install and they sounded great. There was some pretty stiff competition too.
Which splits for better SQ?

6"/4"/1" doesnt seem that hard to fit. I can just holes in the trim and polonk the 4" in and install the 6" behind the trims in the factory location (which is for a 4")
Any bigger just won't fit.
Which is why I'm faced with what to get.
Coz if I had my choice, it be 8" 3-ways up front.
Would the 4" need to be directed? Or can it be aimed at the feet? If it sounds okay aimed at the feet, then I can do it all myself.
But we'll soon see. Maybe I'll get it up and running in 2 months coz I decide to go all out. I just need some music now though...which is why I wanna hurry up and get my head unit and splits.
