Hey all,
I just had my gear stolen, with a phoenix gold zx250 being used to power my focal 165KX's now gone. I also had an alpine MRV1005 powering a phoenix gold XMAX 12" (4ohm).
I need to find two amps:
An amp (2 or 4ch) to run the splits (at least 100WRMS per channel)
A mono to run the sub. (at least 500WRMS)
By budget is around $1500 for the front amp, and $1000 for the mono. I loved the phoenix - very detailed in the upper end, and wanted some other recommendations. I am considering running the tweets and mids each off their own channel (hence the 4ch) or a nice big 2ch - any ideas on what will sound better??
Any help would be appreciated - audison, zapco, xtant, phoenix gold are all on the list but i'm not too sure on prices/availability etc.

Add the DLS Ultimate range to your list. The A3 "Twin Mono" will give you 2x150WRMS, whilst the A6 offers a Class A/B monoblock giving 500WRMS @ 40hm (1.33 ohm stable). Definately worth at least looking at Available through selected retailers, or through Audioart & Tech(CAA sponsors). Other brands to consider: US Amps (Tubes), uDimension, etc.

mmm, dls ultimate series amps are damn sweet.
DLS website
other options would include:
*a couple of hertz H230 dual mono amps; 4-channel i think includes BP xovers suitable for active front stages
*audison LRx series 2/4-channel + monobloc (LRx1.400: 1x350WRMS into 4ohm which would still be none-too-shabby at all, and more than likely better than the alpine would have been)
*cadence A or Z series amps: select from multichannel and monoblocs; RRPricelist in 'prices' section
hertz and audison are available through the online store: Web Audio Direct
and of course, as already mentioned, PG, u-dimension, etc.
sorry to hear of the theft. but have fun finding some new toys.

Since you like PG, would you consider purchasing my ZXs,
I currently running my ZX450 bridged to my front splits, u could also run them active in 4 channel mode via the Xovers (PS i prefer the bridged config) .... and my ZX500 to run subs... 600wrms+
the power suits ur needs exactly.. and i'm looking for well under $1500 for both.. white in colour and .V2s and in good cond.
PS i'm going to replace them with smaller PG amps i've already purchased- 2 x ZXTi400.. i purchased them to put these in my GFs car, but she said she was happy with her system, so i've decided to put them in my car.. i'd sell these if i cant sell my ZXs
Either way I'm not moving from my PG.. i actually previously owned the ZX250, sold it to fund the ZX450/500s

I think I remember you selling those on this site a couple years back - thats when i got my zx250...
i'd love to grab them - but it's an insurance deal thats covering it, so it's retail only for me...
i may consider the zx500 though - i'll get back to you. PM me with ballpark individual prices and we can talk about it.
