I have a Commodore VR Calais with a LPG Gas Tank in the boot. I use to have 2 MTX81000D's with 2 Beyond Audio 15" XOne's and a JVC 909R Head Unit. But now im looking at either giving the car audio game away or going nuts. i want loud rumbly bass, im wondering if its possible to get an RFL to sound nice with 3000W or whether id be better off buying 2 DD Audio 9515's and running 2000W into each sub? Id like to hear from anyone who knows if its possible to get good SQ from one of these subs.. my main limitiation is that LPG tank and NO im not having it installed lol.

Thanks PPL

the 9515's...you can obtain.."some" sq...however.. the RFL..is a lost child.

I know of couple guys here in the states using DD's 95 series for SQ....

then again..I remember when a stroker 18" won sq also... Install is the key

Forget about the RFL if you want bass. It is SPL ONLY! It does not make any low bass.

the fs on the rfl's 60 sumthign hz isnt it? i think they are well suited to multiple woofers, where as in the right box the 9515 will do averything, and the dd's are quite efficient so they will go nuts off 2kw each sub

DD's all the way for normal listening & SPL. RFL specs point to SPL use only. Though there was talk of an SQ oriented coil assembly in the works.

have you thought about Beyond Audio Inhuman? BA market this as both a SQ and an SPL driver. On thier website they quote something like:

'ever wanted a sub that can do 150db @ 30hz?'

It looks just as good as a DD and is probably as expensive.

As above, the RFL is a No Go for SQ, SPL Only.

DD 9515 SQ for sure in the right enclosure, but also as above a BA Inhuman or Adire Brahma would be good alternatives if you are looking for mad bass with decent SQ and big time power handling.

Well a guy did use a RFL in the sealed box in a SQ setup(from what I could see of the pics). don't know how well it went.

But do the DD for SQ easily a better option. But again lots of other options

or how about a SXA 15 when I had 3 of the 12's in my car with about 4000WRMS on em they went reslly well and didnt sound too bad for SQ either considering they were in a SPL enclosure and loaded down the to .3 ohm each

They arent really well know as they are only new but locally made here in oz I think 1ce a few of these babies get out into the lanes they will attract a lot of attention for both of there SPL and SQ qualities..

cheers
