finally got this sub...installed it and all sounds pretty good (seems like a good mix of SPL and SQ from what i can tell so far)...
the only problem is i can hear a light tapping/tingling (hard to descrbie) sound coming from the middle of the subwoofer...it is only very quiet and can't be heard unless you put your face within 50cm of the sub...the same sound occurs when there is NO power going to the sub (disconnected) and i push back and forth on the cone...
would this sound maybe go away after "breaking in" the subwoofer? or is this possibly a faulty unit? or maybe the sound is part of the design (doubt it)? my previous subwoofer (alpine vr10) didn't have this noise...it almost sounds like something is "loose" inside the dust cap area (middle)...
any ideas? it's really quite annoying, especially considering it is brand new!

i once had a 'buzzing' sound coming out of one of my subs, it was quite bad. turned out, it was a dustcap that somehow came a bit loose, the buzzing was the vibration caused between the dustcap and the cone. i reglued it with araldite epoxy resin, not a problem since
so take a look at the duscap carefully, run your fingernail around its edge to see if its peeling away at any point, if it is, it needs to be re-glued

is it possible that something was dropped into the pole vent, like a screw, or a 5c piece...
