But also looks like I will be getting 2 L7's to replace em. Not sure whether to get the Dual 2 or Dual 4 atm but am looking for someone to design me a nice box
Don't want it to take up the whole boot like the current one does, but want nice low and loud if possible.
Anyone have any suggestions ? Cmon Critter - get to work

what power do you get off the D2 with 2ohm and 1ohm? i guess it'd be nice to have at least 400WRMS on tap per sub.
the box design will depend on the year model, with the 2001 models suiting either ported or sealed better than the current/2002 model that prefers sealed only. i guess going port would be provide the option of adjustable ports should you wish to change between SQ and SPL.

Anthony, lemme know what drivers you plan to use and I'm on the case, for ported twin S12L7s you aren't gonna leave much boot space tho'....
Dual 2s and Dual 4s are different drivers too, regardless of the model year.
Of course you could always buy mine "as is" if it fits ....

Doesn't look like your going SPL anymore so I would go the dual 4's so you can 1ohm daily and be loud as hell. But if you wanna play safe with 2ohm daily and then 0.5ohm for burps
From testing in my car off 1 battery i've got about 1150wrms @ 2ohm nominal, and about 2.7kwrms@0.5ohm.... i've tested with both amps running off 1 poor battery hehe with gains half way 1657wrms@1ohm... but I imagine it would be up around 2000+ at full tilt.

It's a relatively small box which is good for not taking up most of the boot - and it's definately plenty loud.

All I meant was that I dont want the box to be quite as huge as this one, just a bit more practical thats all.
And dont really care much either for changing ports this time around, just want a loud daily driver.
And Shiny - you are a

IMO the 2002 models are not suited to SQ and porting at the same time, would be loud and low and slow/boomy.....

The box is designed, Ignite, but it is sealed.

Hmm, it sounds a bit like the same setup as Damo95 has down here. He's got 2 L7's facing forward in a sealed box in his VS Commodore.

Thanx John..
Yep, my dual 4ohm S12L7's are in a TINY, 0.88cf sealed box, per sub.. The box, at the base, is only bout 350mm deep, and the sub magnet has bout 15mm clearance to the bottom/back of the box.. its that small..
Yet, at the CAAdB event at Epping last weekend, i pulled a 132.5 on the new meter.. Did 136.6 on the old one.. And thats running off the lone ZR600, which according to the birth certificate, puts out 809wrms @ 4ohm..
Not too shabby really, but its nice and tight.. Good back massages are frequent too..
