Dual PG Ti 12" setup

Okay done some more thinking and just want a few more opinions about my sub choice. While SQ is the primary goal I know sometimes ill be in the mood for some massive bass so the good old SQL option
Anyway I've decided the Brahma is a touch outter my price range and considering it'd probably like a bit more power than I have on tap to perform optimally, I've pretty much discounted this option.
So I think ive narrowed it down to either a single Xtant 1244 getting 660wrms or pickin up 2 PG Ti 12" getting 450wrms each running a 1ohm load to the 1.400. First consideration for the dual is box sizes, was hoping these would run nicely in a smallish sealed boxes, what kinda size would I be lookin at with 450wrms per sub?
Will cost a couple of hundred more so do u guys reackon this will be worthwhile? I'm guessing SQ wise both options would be quite similar, providing adeqaute subass to match the rest of my system. But thought the 2 PG's with a bit more power might offer a bit more volume. Don't wanna go too much over $800 so keep that in mind. Any thoughts would be great.
Would like to hear from Critter especially as he runs dual PG Ti 12's I think... any comparisons or comments would be awesome, oh and also box size
Cheers

Yep, run with 1.1 cu ft per driver sealed and there will be plenty of bass.
I'm making a fair chunk of it with the JL amp (about 300 rms available per driver).
I can tell you that run-in, these beauties hit as clean as you could wish for
REAL nice SLAM baby......

1.1 cu ft sounds about perfect to me, very do-able in a big ass statesman boot Mmmmm sounding like a damn good option I think.

regarded on a similar level with the brahma by many.
plus you should be able to get it for $800.

Anyone have one in their car? would love to hear some opinions. Whats power should I be giving it for optimal output? would the Lrx 1.400 be up to the jobs (900W)? I'm guessing you can get them in dual 2ohm setup...

Would suggest you pm Hutch for config options/local dealer/availability/driving requirements.
They are definitely Good Things.
With any of the "premium" subs around tho', set them up properly in a quality enclosure and you will be happy for sure.
All the premium subs in today's market give excellent results when done properly, whether they be ID, JL, PG, Adire, etc etc, no-one has a mortgage on quality performance.
IMO be guided on buying quality, doing it properly, and looking at what set-up suits you for looks, space available, what suits the power/load that works best with your amp, the brand identification that does it for you etc.
You can't lose any way you go in today's market, so many good subs really IMO.

anyway i'll have IDMAX12 in my car soon. but i am still waiting for it to arrive from the US.
can't you make the ship go faster Hutch???
i'd give you a demo of mine when it comes, but i guess you're in melbourne so not quite possible.
i'll post a my own lil review of it when i get it installed.
1.3 - 1.5 cubes i think is the ideal size for a sealed box. thou if you want a bit extra you could go ported. maybe 2.3 cubes.
well 1000rms is what it is rated at. but 900 from your audison should be plenty. if you want an extra 3db or so with a tiny bit of sq loss just go ported.
dual 2 or dual 4 ohms are available so in your case you'd pick the dual 2.
if you got any more questions shoot away. you can also read spec sheet on www.imagedynamicsusa.com. have a look at sounddomain.com forums. they have a specific ID section. pple from ID answer post there, but do a search first as almost everything as been asked before.
happy sub hunting
