For the money these r great sq subs.... i have had a bit of experience with these subs and have built a few different boxes and what i found was that for sq, sealed is a pretty safe way to go and also the pros and cons of diff volumes ....
* The smaller sealed reccomended boxes (0.7-1.2 ft^3) lack a bit of low end ommf but give a fair bit bit of upper range bass (>50hz)
* The larger sealed boxes (2.0 ft^3) have alot of low end bass but the upper range suffers (more noticable in rap and techno as the bass hits no where near as hard around 50-60hz). Also the power handling is reduced and distortion seemed to be more noticable at this size.
Although i havent tried this, for a sealed sq application i would go with a box that is of about 1.5-1.7 (1.5 giving slightly more upper and 1.7 ft^3 giving slighly more lower bass) in volume after the displacement of the sub itself has been taken into account. This should give u the best of both worlds

IF you look through old threads, I think PG recommends a 1.35cubic ft box to achieve a good balance of low end bass and transient bass. I've got mine in a 1.07cube ft box (0.94 net displacement) and thier is a lot of kick to it and very punchy. It does lack a bit of low end though, but nonetheless good for techno/dance music
