They thrive in tiny sealed enclosures as well.
Look at their official specs.

i've got 450rms @ 4ohm.. box i made 4 an alpine type s so i think 1.25 cf it wants 25L so that might be why it sounds adverage
it should be a great sub, looks awesome!! so i'll give it a chance 2 run in and if it still sounds so-so then i'll make another box for it

Hmmm mind soudn pretty good really tight and accurate bass.....goes about as deep as the tantrum but with a lot more finesse...and seems to be able to play upper bass notes a lot more effectivly than the tantrum...
I was a bit wary of the hertz recco boxes....after i pluged the specs and box sizes into winisd i found that a bigger box (mine is 2.1ft^3 minus speaker displacement) has a bit better respone than the small box.....so mabe that is the way to get them going ok... will have to meet up with u one day subatomic and have a comparison between the 2...

guys there INFINATE BAFFLE (free air) subs!!!
use an aperiodic membrane in front of the cone trapped between steel mesh, screwed to the baffle that way the bass wont seem to be so sloppy!

ah that would be great man
i just have a feeling that something might be wrong
can't remember what its called but that vent to cool the sub, the 1 in the centre of the magnet, the pole i think
well mine had some strange thing there that looks like dark brownish glue
so i hope it hasn't been burnt but it doesn't look like actual burnt marks, rather just glue..
how does ur vent look spec???
did u invert the sub??
grr maybe i should go back to the store tomorrow and speak to em and let them have a listen
yep gonna do that!
y didn't i just take the other sub!!

ahh fixed it
i had the sub inverted and i guess it turns out that it doesn't like that! i cut the hole 4mm larger to fit it in properly and turned it around to the normal position.
the difference was black ans white!!
sounded soooo much better than before, and goes a lot louder than my type s
i've got fake checker(sp) plate plastic on the front face of the box with aluminium L shaped boarder things around the edges screwed in with like 500 screws all up! looks mad and not tacky or anything..
well anyway, the bumps from the checker plate, although they were squashedby the sub around the hole, they still allowed air to escape, which caused the fluttering sound at hard bass hits!!
so gonna seal that up 2morrow and it should be awesome!!
my box is roughly 35L --> 10L too big than the recc size, but after the subs in its < 8L so nopt sure if its worth worrying about
thanks for ya help all
