Hi, does anybody have any thoughts on how this years CD3403 compares to the lower end models of last year.. ie the CD3421. I noticed looking at the Aus. site that the CD3403 has noticably lower stereo separation, s/n ratio and dynamic range figures compared to the CD3421. Would this be different measurement techniques or could the CD3403 be designed to a lower standard and cost than the CD3421. I listened to the CD3403 but couldn't form an opinion as their was nothing on the same board to compare it with. I have to say though that the Mp3 section appears to be pretty usable with decent seek times. Thanks.
Low End Eclipse CD3403 quality?

Good to see someone reads the spec's
cd3421 will give a much better performance. I have one in my jeep and find it hard to fault.
cd3403 in a base model unit priced well for a base model, but is a base model, replacing the cd3412.
sacrafices have to be made, so how important is mp3, if you are after a mp3 player stereo separation is not really that important.
If you want quality sound stick with the cd3421 & give the mp3 a miss...
