My sisters boyfriend has just gone and bought 2 of the above mentioned subs. He intends running them in a sealed box. But hasn't built them yet.

Whats everyones Opinion of them as far as sound quality and overall rating?

Time for some real advice...

I have been using one of these subs for about a year now. I rushed my purchase of these before doing any decent research, but they have done the job and I am reasonably happy with them. I dare say there are better subs out there for the money (IE: PG Octane R) but for the money I guess they are a reasonably good option in terms of the price you pay for them. I am putting about 330W through mine at the moment and it handles it fine, it hits the highs *reasonably* well. I am a little disappointed with the bottom end, though this may need some tweaking and would of course depend upon how you team the sub up with your specified amp.

The sub seems to work very hard to produce the output that I like; I don't like to crank my sub very often, but generally have it on a moderate level. I have found that it doesn't like a lot of rapid bass, and sounds quite cardboardy at deep volumes. So if he is interested in lisetning to lots of Punk/Trance or Dance music then I would probably be recommending either a different sub or an increase in his budget.

Overall, the sub has performed well however, and I intend on keeping mine until I have the money for an upgrade! I think they are fine for an entry level sub until you really work out what you want!

Cheers...Mitch :thumb:
