I know folks who are also using: milbert tube amps, zapco amps, arc audio...all are quite impressed with the combo
good luck

personally i'd be looking towards audison(VRx) or TRU(T03 or copper tubes) but that'll be big bucks.
arc will be around soon. might be worth while waiting for them. they should be nicely priced.

LRx will work fine, the LRx2.400 (edit: LRx2.500) at 2 x 200 W/RMS would suit just fine and comes in at under $900
LRx have good seperation, feedback, s/n ratio etc. Infact band width is 4 to 85k and THD is a low 0.009% !
As you are in WA Technik Car Audio in Welletton can help you with any enquiries.
But there are lots of good brands out there so look long and hard and I am sure you will find a good buy !

Which ever way you go, and what ever you buy, do your dyns the justice and put good amps behind them. Personally I use Xtants, but most amps in the same price range will give you the same results.

yeah all the above amps will work nicely, but, learnt from where i work (high-end hifi), i find its all about amp-speaker matching. for instance, i'd put some dyns with a Musical Fidelity amp, a Redgum, or a nice Denon, but wouldn't dare with a Marantz or a Sugden. the audio properties of the speakers and amps should compliment each other, not match. e.g. marantz is usually quite wooly and bright - and quite analytical - too far so. dyns are v. detailed. the two rarely work harmoniously.
in my experience, i've found tubes and dyns sound v. nice. the low, low distortion of the dyns, with the 3rd harmonic distortion of tubes adds up to a very nice, warm and clean sound.
the butler should do nicely, but as far as stright solid state goes, audison gets my vote!
yeah... jsut my 2c

I think Phil meant the LRX 2.500 Audison amplifier which is rated at 2 x 200WRMS @ 4 ohms. I can happily recommend this combination as a tried and true SQ package. With that amount of power on tap, you will have unbelievable headroom and if the splits are installed correctly, a very spacious and accurate sound stage. Please feel free to call me or email me with any further queries on 9457 1700 or darren@technikcaraudio.com.au.
Just my 2.2cents worth...

Tube drive would be good no doubt, but I was told to get the best out of the Tube you've got to run it bridged (I was planning to get one to run both splits in future) A 4ch Xtant would be the way to go I'd say, and I think the new range is about to be released.

speakers make the biggest difference to you sound quality full stop ...
so are you implying that if he had brought a $2000 audison or equivalant amp, he could have run a set of kenwood 7 x 10"s for better results ???
personally with my dynaudios i have used an audison two channel, alpine two channel, and a eclipse two channel ... the worst sounding was the audison !!!

amps make much less of a difference compared to better speakers and install. i feel sorry for those who think otherwise.
