Neither of our amps were running fully blown active setups, although a friend of mine in Canada has one in his civic running a 3 way active Rainbow front stage and Pioneer ODR deck and processor, and i can honestly say that out of all the cars i have heard both here and there it was one of the best!
With that said just think of it as several Soundstream class A amps bolted together with Balance Line inputs, in one horny gold plated masterpiece.
If you do decide to get one, the hardest thing is getting one without the top being scratched to the craphouse, and make sure you get an extra 2 channel BLT.
If you do decide to go ahead you wont be dissapointed!!
Sorry for the long post i just love the Davinci!

While I haven't had the aural (and visual!) pleasure of meeting a DaVinci personally, I have used several of Soundstream's amps from that range - including some of their Class A beauties: I can assure your they are classy units, and superb for SQ, and have the balls to get *very* loud when angered.
If you've got the folding - go for it.

We got one into test about three years ago now and when the voltage dipped below 12.5 volts the amps output was horribly low. They're simply not a good amp in my humble opinion when one considers the price they're asking for one.
In my personal opinion, one of the better 6 channel amps around at the moment for under $5000 would have to be the Audison VRx6.420.
I tested one for INCAR not too long ago and was suitably impressed by it's performance.

In my suggestion why not after the Tru-Tect C7. It is better than Brax and sound much more better than the tube you having now...
If you interested the amp then ask Vincent to contact me...i can bring it in to Aust for you. Cheers !

Ya think???
As long as the feature list meets your requirements, I wouldn't doubt for a second that any of the above mentioned amps would rock your world.
So, value for money aside (any one who can shell out $5k on an amp isn't going to be worried about comparing $/watts and auditioning Jaycar amps), it all comes down to personal tastes IMHO, and with regards mainly to LOOKS.
Flame away.
