Hi,

Currently i've got a Clarion DXZ825 driving a Kenwood KAC846 4x50WRMS running my fronts and rears (splits). I'm going to upgrade the front 6.5" splits (looking at Hertz HSKs and Bostons) and am thinking of some options.

1) Buy a new, more powerful 4 channel (e.g 4x80 and run the fronts and rears off that)
2) Bridge the 4 Channel to give 2x150W RMS up front and leave the rears (maybe off the HU??)

Keep in mind I have a small Daihatsu charade (in this small car, would I be right in saying that generally the rears wouldnt frag the stage back?)

I'm buying a sub setup soon (DD's) but at this stage i'm just working on getting the midbass-treb all nice.

Any advice?

I'd be more inclined to bridge your existing amp to run the fronts. IMO rears sound fine run from the head unit (I've done this in plenty of setups). You want your front stage to be stronger than your rear fill. Most ppl fade their rears way down, and so you'd be wasting a lot of amp power if you ran them from a bigger amp.

Thanks guys.
Yeh I guess it will be plenty for the front stage and the car is so small there isnt much use for the rears apart from a little ambience....
