Hi There

I'm looking at upgrading my current set of splits and have been considering the Rainbow CS 265p Vanadium Kick Bass 2 way 6.5" splits. Unfortunately it's pretty hard to find any reviews/opinions on these speakers and I'm going to have a very hard time finding anywhere to demo these before I part with the cash. So what I'm asking is for some basic outlines of what rainbows sound like from ppl who have ever heard them. Speakers like focal and mb you can throw in the bright category whiles dyns are laid back how would you describe a rainbow? I listen to mostly grunge/pop rock do you think these would be suited to the sound. Hopefully someone can advise me asap thanks in advance :)

Regards Dave

i did get a chance to listen to some a while ago, i know there changing them at the moment so im not sure if u are looking at getting the new range or the old range.

i found them lacking in the upper upper midrange and not that nice to listen to.
the newer one's are supposed to be completely different so??

personaly i would stick clear of the Kick Bass versions and get the standard one's
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

I can't comment on how they sound, as I have only heard a mid level set quite a few years ago, but I strongly advise against investing in any speakers without auditioning them.

I don't know about you but I don't buy jeans without trying them on :)

New Rainbow stocks will arrive soon and you will have a chance to listen to them.

Yes, the older Kickbass versions had a bit of midrange missing but I'm told the new ones have been designed to over come this.

Please contact Marty @ www.fhrxstudios.com in NSW or James @ www.advanceae.com.au online.

This is what the new ones look like:Posted Image

Those are the Profi Vanadium's, the Profi's have a black cone.

The Profi has a natural silk fiber mixture tweeter and the mids are also have a 'natural' fiber cone.

The Profi Vanadium's have an aluminium compound tweeter and the mid's cones are an aluminium compound on a polymer cellulose base.

its easily tuned in with a good eq and even more so if you go active and also if you angle them abit that helps too.

How do they sound detailed IMHO.
there in the middle ground between focal utopia and dynaudio. Not bright or in your face. I prefer the rainbow vanadium tweeters to the focals. As i found my focal utopias to be quite sibilant.
