I've been looking for a new 12" SQ sub, and I now have the opportunity to pick up an A/D/S 312RS at a great price brand new with full warranty, but unfortunately it doesn't look like I will be able to audition it, so I'm after any opinions on this sub.

I listen to pretty much all styles, but mostly alternative stuff, D&B, and funk. The other subs that have been at the top of my list are the Boston 12.5LF and Xtant Hex 12", but I can pick up the A/D/S a lot cheaper than these subs. So how does the A/D/S stack up against these other subs??

Any input appreciated

Michael

QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

Well I would say that A/D/S sound very clean. this sub is defifitely for sq. it will give you a very clean and detailed bass but you can't play it very loud. with the style of music U listen to, U may found that ADS is a not punchy enough as it was design to be very efficient for low-end of the bess sound.

Well, how much and where U can pickup this deal for. I might be buying one for my self if the deal workout to be good enough.

I did a search and it looks like they have a pretty decent rep. so i'm gonna grab it anyway.

It's from a local retailer. apparently last one in stock, I'm getting it for $350.

The A/D/S website shows a different model, the R12S, so i'm guessing that's why this model is going so cheap since it is no longer current.

The model sub you are talking about is sensational. I had 2 in a previous system and they were the best sounding subs I have had, and Ive had a lot of systems. It will also combine perfectly with the other gear you have to create a top class SQ system. Keep the sub in a half stuffed sealed box of between 1.25 - 1.5 ft for SQ.

I picked up the sub today, I think I have a new love :P

A/D/S/ even go so far as to provide you with simulated in-car response graphs for 9 different enclosure styles and sizes (3 each of sealed, vented and band-pass) as well as out-of-car responses for each style... A first for any car audio component I've owned.

Battaboom, I think I will go for the larger sealed enclosure, but I'm lucky in that I've got a ton of room to play with, so I might try ported also just for fun.
