I have a 4 ohm sub and want an amp to run it. So far i have seen the Jaycar 1x 438WRMS, Alpine MVR-T420 1x 340WRMS, Pioneer 972 1x 400WRMS, Caliber CA2000d 1x 450WRMS and the Audison SRx2s 1x 600WRMS ( all @ 4 ohm ). I dont want to add another sub and want loads of head room. Im leaning toward the Audison ATM but want to know if their are any other powerful amps out their. Budget < $800.

Thanx guys.

out of that lot, i'd take the Caliber. it is much much more future proof than than the other amps, being stable to 1 ohm when (not if) you upgrade

otherwise, personally, i'd go for a Zapco Ref 350.2 (RRP $848). this will give you 1x350wrms for your sub for now.

then, when you upgrade, the Zapco will be a more than tidy front stage amp (running some dyns or bostons etc.)

what sort of sub is it, and what's the rest of your setup?

Zapco 500M would be a better choice as it is a monoblock, $888

Umm it is a Boston 10.5lf. Have Alpine H/U, Fusion front & sony rear. Was thinking of getting the Audison so then I could use it for the front stage later on ( for Boston FS-60's ). Is it a good amp ( Audison) ? lol yeah suppose when. The Caliber seems like a good option if I got another sub, where can you get this amp from and how much?

i would highly recommend the Audison SRx2S. it would be great to power the sub and would work excellently when you use it to power the Boston splits.

Thanx dude, thats what i was thinkin, but another question, will the single sub with 600WRMS be louder and sound better than 2x subs with 750WRMS ( from say the caliber 4ohm + 4ohm subs parallel)?

Have you owned or used a SRx2S?
