Because of its ceramic cone the V50 has some similar characteristics to that of metal dome tweeters. By itself it can be rather harsh sounding, slightly "edgy" and a bit dry. I guess it depends on the tuning and driver location, as they are the ones that heavily influence the final result. Magnesium cones on Seas midbass/midrange however, that's another story...
Golf_bht: Man, if I were you now's the time to go for something else, something different. How about a ribbon tweeter like Swans RT1L? Or maybe Hiquophon OW series? Or one of the Usher ones? God, there are tons of raw drivers out there, sometimes one does not know where to begin. But if you feel sticking to familiar brands, that's cool. I mentioned the Ring Radiator, why don't you get the one without the phase plug? I heard that it has better off axis performance than the normal Ring Radiator.
Something for you to think about.
Cheers,
Bon

One thing that still confuses me though, is to what extent does Accuton have anything to do with Venture? Do they provide drivers according to Venture's requested spec, much like the relationship Alpine has with Scan Speak in the development of the F#1Status components?
Oh, for those not familiar with Accuton: http://www.accuton.com

I own supremo's and have been very happy with them but would love to hear Escotar and Scanspeak in a back to back.
If you decide to go supremo's Golf i may be interested in an escotar swap + cash....

try Fabulous Acoustic FA1 tweeter... it's using Ribbon instead... and it's by Skanning too...

looks like it has a lot better dispersion characteristics and off axis frequency response compared to the r29 with the same motor and phase plate.
friend uses the D2905/990000 in his home speakers with just amazing results. Its a little more dynamic than the super smooth dyn esotar.
i use the scanspeak D2904/600000 in the car and its just absolutely amazing and has a very similar sound to the D2905/990000 but without its power handling (btw it uses the exact same dome).

the tweeter is made by ribbon... it produces a wider frequency than any other tweeters on the market (because it is ribbon)... you don't really need a 3 ways setup and i can guarantee that there almost no frequency gap in between tweeter and midbass...
the problem with this speakers, they need a good cable (not an avarage quality) and the price is USD1650 not including passive crossover...
BTW, i sold my TruTechnology T03 and change to TruTechnology C7.4... a much much much much better amplifier... worth every single cents that i spent...
