I am looking at competing in CAASQ. I have all the equipment (Except for sub and sub amp) but I was wondering which car out of the two I have would be better for SQ.
I have a VN Commodore and a GH Sigma. I was wondering what car to install my gear into. I would have assumed the VN due to it's wider body, for sound stage purposes, but lots of SQ people (Cyberpunky, T-Bro, Mr_bob) all seem to have "smaller" cars, or narower cars. I was just after some opinions on this matter to help decide which car to install in.

Thanks

If a list of gear helps at all:
Front stage: Focal utopia 165 W3
Front stage amp: Zapco Reference 750
Rear Fill: Focal access 100
Rear fill amp: Audison SrX2
Sub: Probably a 12' Brahma
Sub amp: Undecided. Possibly Sliders Concept, other option is VrX 1.500.

T-Bro has a Magna, not exactly what you call a "smaller" car.

I'd go with the Commodore for sheer volume alone, however you my have to experiment with getting bass into the cabin which seems to plague most Commodore drivers.

Then again, the Sigmeh would be different and great to be in the lanes!

Andy Jones, IASCA Street X SQL is code for "I half ass everything." Basically you are saying you are not loud enough to do SPL, and have no idea what it takes to do Sound Quality. So you meet in the middle with a quiet system that sounds like ass. Good job at being mediocre.

You have to weigh up the pros and cons..

Kick panel space?
Front stage speaker pathlengths?
Interior width?
Rattles?
Do the back seats fold down?
Rear view mirror stiffness? (one of my personal preferences  )
Which car you are more likely going to be driving? (You may not want to install the stereo in a car you only drive once a week)
If in doubt, do a search and then ask questions!
