ok imade the mistake of going to the autosalon and getting ideas :)

now... i wanna change my subs and mono amp in the near future...
At the moment im running 2 Boston Pro 10s and a DLS Ultimate A6, so i want a noticeable improvement!!!!

One amp i seem to taken a fancy to are the concept 2400wrms amps, seem good for the price, where can i get them??????

Now i got about 1.5cubic foot of room (sealed) for a large sub(s) preferably 12, now just curious what sub(s) would take well to that sort of power and still retain good sq characteristics???

Brahma and IDMAX seem popular, will they handle that sort of power??? and how much do they go for???

any other opinions welcome :)

baring in mind i dont want to spend more then $2k if possible...

i'd assume that 1.5 cubic foot is only gonna fit one comfortably as well.... unfortunately

A sealed box will throw away half your output and sound boomy compared with a well designed ported box.

Have a look at the alpine X-Type subs, there designed for small sealed boxes and are rated at insane levels (power wise) they'll be in stores in the next few months and are around $899rrp from memory. And on the up side they look really good aswell.
I had a bunch of stuff to put here once but that was in the past and this is the present, so I've decided not to put anything in here because its more than likely going to be useless dribble just like the rest of my signature.

Phil

not if you cant fit it....

i'll try to take pictures of my boot (VT Calais) now i got 3 amps in there and a extra 1500amp oddyssey battery which is rather big...

I definitely dont wanna lose my spare tyre access and at the moment their is a pre-fab box built into the boot which is around 1.5cubic foot total, so no more!!!

Im still going for SQ (i have z6s in the car...) so porting probably wouldnt be too easy, and IMO wont be worth the hassles

but thanks anyway :)

I have my 12" Brahma in a 0.7ft^3 after displacement(0.8 before). It goes alright, not tuned properly, and I don't have much to compare to. It's in a VT Berlina with 1200Wrms.

[EDIT] Nevermind, you're in SA.

1 x bramah 12in would be a nice way to go, or 2 x Pro 12.5lf :D
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

i was thinking maybe run them off 2000wrms at 1ohm, would one be able to handle it or go two reverese mounted?

i do like Bostons very much but feel like something even better

Your Boston Pro 10's are pretty good subs already for SQ IMO...

I doubt there are many subs that will allow u to do ur whole upgrade within the $2k budget u want AND at the same time sound a heap better than your Boston Pro's.

But if u want something that looks different or sounds louder, that'd be a different issue.

The Concepts will only be bought used here or via personal import. Good amps although depends which version you get, the early ones were atrocious from my continental forum reading adventures ;)

Still got that Kenwood stacker and a/v cable? :D

Andy Jones, IASCA Street X SQL is code for "I half ass everything." Basically you are saying you are not loud enough to do SPL, and have no idea what it takes to do Sound Quality. So you meet in the middle with a quiet system that sounds like ass. Good job at being mediocre.
