This topic was inspired by a question in the 12v Industry forum about the Audison Thesis amps.

Anyway, my question(s) goes like this:

When is it better to have more current on tap when driving a speaker system?
In what situations is it better to have more power at the expence of a big current swing?

Low impedances are better driven by an amp with a better +/- ampere swing???

And please, no conjecture as I don't know the answer myself and would like correct responses.

Cheers,
Winno.

Would "current on tap" be related to the amplifiers slew rate and damping factor in anyway?
