yeah mayb this computer made in China but Clarion HU's are made in Japan, and so are the top end Pionners i would have expect Alpine did the same for there top end gear too,
but anyway i had a funny popin niose from Clarion headunit and i went through 3 of the same model and each one had the same problem i think its prob with them but i dont no any1 with the same prob,
hey man, i also have the same problem, there is strange popping noise whenever i change volume....eg. each time i turn the dial a little bit, it goes a small pop

I may be mistaken..but i'm about 95% sure that your old Clarion 835 was made in China mate..I owned one myself.

nah thats not the problem im talkin bout, thats usally due to your gains been set to high, my problem is when a CD is playin the noise only comes out when on CD throught the RCA outs ... i think iv nailed the fault to being when playin CD with a few scratchs it pops slighlty but wont jump like my new alpine doesnt pop at all goes through most scratches. go figure
