I was thinking of buying a Panasonic Deck (This one-CQ-C5400)
Do these decks or panasonic decks in general have decent sound quality?
it has 5V pre outs and a 7 band Equaliser, as well as hi and low pass filters so i would suspect SQ to be fairly good...

Thanks
Chris

It's all in the ears and eyes of the beholder in the end.

Of the five brands of head unit we sell, Panasonic is the last one I try to recommend. It just doesn't do it for me sound wise and their attemps to market certain features as giving them the edge just doesn't work either.
It's our alternative to Sony (which we don't stock)
Having said that, we do sell lots of it but mainly due to it's looks (it does look pretty to alot of our female customers so far) and also due to the fact that it's quite inexpensive.

For the money you could also buy a good Alpine, Clarion, or even Pioneer unit that would out-perform it by a long way.

in my experiences, eclipse headies have ALWAYS outperformed their mass market (pioneer, alpine, clarion, pana, sony, the wood etc...) competition in the sound stakes... at least up until you're talking high-end models (p9/f#1/mobileES/proaudio).

i own a CD8061/BLA and i'm yet to hear a head unit that betters it for under 2grand.
