This is what I've got (in a Magna):

HU: Alpine CDA-7873R
Front: Blaupunkt ODca 650 splits
Rear: Alpine SPR-692A

The second (and FINAL) stage is a 10" boxed (no port) sub with a 4ch amp running it and the front splits. 6x9's can make do with the head unit.

I am keen for a very small box for practical reasons, max depth ~9".

Shortlist:

Subs: JL Audio 10W3v2 (is this good for SQ); suggestions welcome. Maybe IDQv2???.

Amps: Zapco 360; Tru-Technology T-4.65; Alpine MRV-F540.

The budget is around $1500 for sub and amps. ($500 for fitting & cables)The emphasis is quality not volume (though some would be nice).
The music is Butler, AC/DC,Moby,Dido,U2,Clapton (that's what's in the car)

1. Am I on the right track for SQ.

2. Is there enough power in those amps for the sub or should I stretch budget to a 2ch and a monoblock?

Opinions and comments appreciated. I don't think I'm too wide of the mark but I've been out of the game for a long time.

I personally like the IDQ subs....check them out yourself.

The amps you have listed are pretty popular in the SQ forums....seems like Tru-Tech have a great reputation here. Also look at Audison.
