Good god, i thought i was the only one who could fit that much crap into one post...

I never said cast baskets had no benefit, nor has anyone else. I just said, as did others, that cast baskets arent 'superior' for all applications, any more than slicks are the best tyres for all applications, and i absolutely refute your claim that high end speakers must use cast baskets to be credible...

So that you dont get lost there amid all the HAHAHHAHAROFLOLLERSKATES you seem happy to type out, lets paraphrase what you're saying :
• No woofer without cast baskets can be considered as high end.

Now lets paraphrase what i'm saying :
• Thats bollocks.

Guess what? I'm right? OMG I AM TEH WINNAR! I feel so special.

Anyway, off to your appointment 'my boy', i'm sure that any appointment so important that your preparation for it entails typing verbal disentary in unabridged War & Peace length, is one truly pressing! Good luck to you sir, and dont hit the door on the way out :D

cmon blacky, of you were from a car audio speaker marketing dept and saw this thread. you would think "Bingo that all that marketing money went somewhere!!, someone listen to the bull**** we spread" "the bastards makeing speakers that sound just as good with pressed steel baskets can go rot in hell!!, when we are finnished they will all want cast baskets! and just think, it only cost us another 20 cents!!!!"

"maybe we should start using aluminium cones and tell them thats better!"

all i can see from your post's Honour77 is that you dont want to belive, you think a cast basket is really going to make a difference to cost? **** that audioline sub that cost me $20 must have been a real bargin (and sound better than anything with a pressed steel basket) cause of that cast alloy basket that i have seen used by a good dozen speaker makers.....

IT'S MARKETING DAMNIT!!! CANT YOU SEE THROUGH THE BULL****?

anyway belive what you want to, i guess it helps you sleep at night :D

ta ta...

thats it from me :D
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.
