the difference might be that the E has RDS and the other not. the other features should be the same...

RDS is usually represented by R... eg 7949R = RDS unit

some site on google said that one of them had RDS, now you got me thinking which one it was, i bloody forgot ahahahahaha

the 7949 could be the US model. it will have different radio frequency selections; so 'am' radio is unlikely to work here, and was not selectable for 'region' on that HU. they were also 'black' from memory.

the 7949E is the australian version and might be shared with other regions (although i presume there was a 7949J for japan). the ones here were grey in colour.

i used to have one of these and they were great for SQ.

i know Chris there are heaps of guys wanting to buy, but this isn't mine it's a customers deck. he asked me to put it in my car to listen to it, but i'm scared ****less as there aren't many around and for the main reason that it's not mine. he will sell it for the right price thou...

I was under the impression 7949 = Black & 7949E = Grey

hahaha I think not.. I've got one with box/manual/loom/remote/ etc etc.. it's been FS on these forums for 4 months now, for $400.. not even a nibble.
