i know this will be good for sound quality and all the companies will release better quality head units due to this implementation from jvc...but then burr brown kind of loses its special appeal and wank factor that somebody can boast haha i have burr brown in my deck/amp etc
also with this introduction of doing these deck at such a cheap price with burr brown, has burr brown cost cut and just using the name to help market products? what do you think

Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

so it shouldn't be of huge surprice that BB DACs are filtering into cheaper HUs. also, who's to say what 'grade' or year DAC it is? it could be an older model BB DAC, or a very entry-level one.

the newer jvc stuff has "24bit resolution, single-bit" dacs. not that it makes much of a difference because they still sound better than alpine, clarion, pioneer, kenwoot and sony headies at the same prices imo... heh. but yeah they've been able to claim BB's in the past.

There are much better places to be doing custom modifications before you even think about changing a DAC.
Never argue with an idiot.
They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

The $269 KD G515 has a Burr Brown DAC but only 1 RCA.
The stand-out model was the KD G615, it has 3 RCAS, Remote, AUX, MP3/WMA all for $299
Or the KD DV6105, a DVD tuner including "Giga MP3" (that's MP3 on DVD, 100 hours or so on a disc), 3 RCAs etc for $599
I also like the KD AVX1, a single DIN DVD player with 3" TFT colour screen allowing movie play back in a Single DIN space.
Another crazy bargain is the KV M705 7" motorised monitor. It can be paired with the DV6105 to make a motorised 2 DIN full AV centre for only $1448.
