as it says above does any one run a centre channel to help with sound stageing?

if so do you just run a centre with both left and right channels put into a 2 channel and then have it bridges so you lose the fade( doesnt make much sence)

or does your HU suport a centre ch

or do you run dolby prosesors.

or is it a complete waste of time, because in my opinion the few cars thatr ive sat in with them ive noticed a real difference.

It could make it sound better.
It could make it sound worse.

You can do a proper centre channel if using surround sound, or mount a speaker in the centre of your car and run generic frequencies through it (eg: high pass.) Don't confuse the two.

Try it and see if you like it. I don't run one because I don't think I need one. And I don't use surround sound.

Andy Jones, IASCA Street X SQL is code for "I half ass everything." Basically you are saying you are not loud enough to do SPL, and have no idea what it takes to do Sound Quality. So you meet in the middle with a quiet system that sounds like ass. Good job at being mediocre.

I have use a centre channel before and for me I find its a complete watse of time and money. I run it with a processor with time delay it mess up the imaging. Have a listen to your CD at home with a proper sound system. You must know what is imaging from a stereo system. Then compare it with a centre channel. Anyway centre channel is mostly use for dolby pro logic(for movie). A normal CD don't encore with dolby pro logic and it need a processor to decode it.

the only good indication for a centre channel is dolby digital 5.1 playback with DVD. aside from that, it's very difficult to achieve a good result. the only centre channel i've heard that was great is in 'T-Bro's' magna; he used a 5.25" woofer (matching series as L/R speakers) in a custom enclosure, time alignment and IIRC a 30-band EQ just for that speaker; let alone dedicated amp and xover setup. pretty expensive and complex, but worked a treat, and certainly not for the faint-hearted.
