Hey guys just wondering what would be best out of Two IDQ12v2 or One IDMAX12 ?

If you had $800 to spend and were after good SQ with decent SPL what would you chose ?

IDMAX would be my vote for sure. i've found a single one can go damn loud and very be very accurate and play looow.

i don't think 2 IDQ's would keep up.

Well XHELL had two IDQ from what I remeber in his Excel and that was ment to of been one nice sounding car, but I agree better off getting a single IDMAX then going to for two IDQ, it'd work out cheaper in the long run eg: extra costs of box construction, extra wiring, plus costs on what amp you would need to run....

how would you compare an IDMAX with a JLW7 in terms of SQ?

i haven't heard a W7 but my impressions are this:

*the W7 is very similar to the W6 at normal listening volumes and the W7 is more a high-power sub
*a friend changed from a W6 to an RE XXX and he tell me the XXX is muuuch better for overall subbass reproduction: can play deeper, as accurate if not better, and nicer frequency response for better SQ
*i've compared my IDMAX to his RE XXX and they are quite similar in performance at normal listening volumes incl loud; we didn't really, really push either system

convoluted...but my deductions are that the IDMAX is a far, far better value sub with at least as good performance for SQ, possibly better. i realise that is hardly conclusive, but i am extremely happy with my IDMAX, and i don't see the W7 as being anywhere near as good value - arguably overpriced compared with the competition.

IDMAX is the go. but 1 IDQ is ideal for cheap SQ setup. doesn't look overly built with cast basket but sounded much better than many on the market at the same price point.

Im still running in my ID max 12s but Im really impressed so far
The IDQ12 has a one way excursion of 13.5mm while the IDmax has 24.9mm and is 93db/w/m efficien Vs 90db/w/m for IDQ.

This means the ID max will move virtually as much air as 2 IDQs and is more efficent doing it. The power handling is also greater than 2 IDQS. This means not only will it be a little louder with same power, it will go a lot louder with even more power.

ANyway Id say go the ID max for sure as its a great sub IMO and will work out a little cheaper than getting 2 IDQs so ending up being a better value provided you plan to throw a bit of power at it. It will also cost a little less building the box for one sub lol

IDQ is regarded as one of the best SQ sub in the US (check forum.elitecaraudio.com). SQ wise, IDQ was mentioned to beat its brother IDMAX

I agree 2 IDMAX would be the ultimate if u had a front stage that could keep up with them and an electrical system that could provide enough power for your amps! I can only imagine..

Front stage to suit?
Horns and an 8" mid...
THAT WOULD ROCK!!
But the money situation would be a key factor here, if you could afford to go this route, then do it :D
