CAA and TASASCA

I belong to both CAA and TASASCA.
Its a bit disapointing to log on here and see tassies only two car audio associations bagging one another. Tassie doesnt have a large car audio community so the two groups need to try and co exist.
Perhaps CAA needs to appoint a new tassie rep to try and organise some events in Tasmania, sorry Damon, but your efforts havent amounted to much so far.

Well there have been much discussions in Moderators forums to determine why there is little motivation in the CAA Tasmania Body to get things happening, I recall there was an event organised for a casual meet and greet at St. Peters Pass......... and what do you know NOONE was there
Many members commited on the thread saying they'll definately be coming but afte waiting 45mins at bridgewater McDonaldsand not one car showed up on the day of the meet (that was the Hobart meeting point for the cruise up) I made the asumption that NO-ONE was coming!!!
After driving for 1.5hrs with Ian (Lancer_guy) we found there was ZERO members there as well!!!!!!! Paul rang to say no-one was at the Launceston meeting spot either to cruise down so he decided to turn around and go home, and I thought Fair Enough!!
I came to believe that previous forum discussions with co-joining CAA and TASASCA have lead to negative connotations to the CAA body, as CAA wanted the competitions done in a universal format all across Australia & NZ, and if they were going to fly the CAA banner under any Tas audio competition it has to be done in this way!! I'm trying to combat the negative stigma of CAA trying to delete TASASCA from running events as many of the CAA members are also TASASCA members hene sometimes dictate the content in these forums, but it is like drawing blood from a stone to get them to see the light!
All competitons should be promoted on CAA, not justa reps job, but anyone who knows info about something coming up, should post it!!
There was a letter sent out and under TAS Headline via email, it stated "keep posted for new upcoming news in the TAS forum"..... but guess what, traffic stayed to a minimal.......
So Bluedog, it is more than posting a thread stating a meeting for CAA membes to attend, it is changing peoples perceptions of the CAA organisation and removing this negative stigma. Also CAA competitions here in Tasmania are out of my hands, we can work in conjunction with CAA to get a body going but we need support of the members, and this support is not what we're getting, so instead of staying on the bandwagon and saying nothing is happening!!! and how about you hop off and show your support and put your hand up and say your willing to make things happen!!

I want TASASCA co-exist with CAA, if you know how it will work please tell TASASCA and CAA as previous discussions haven't amounted to much, this is on an organisational level not on a rep level!!!!!!!

I am also like bluedog a member of TASASCA and have been since it first begun when the governing body was IASCA, i actually begun when the main body was ACAD but for some of you you would have still been in nappies.
However it appers that you earthquake have a pet hate for TASASCA because you had your chance to join with us and the very event you coordinated was a dud and did not even go ahead.
and as for CAA having Discussions with TASASCA well that has NEVER EVER happend the most we have ever discussed it was when Paul Sice had an email from CAA and it did not have very many details and it was unanamus that until CAA came to us with a better format for events we would not concider joining (If its not broke dont fix it )
SO if you people at CAA are serious about joining or co-existing then its about time to get your heads out of your computer screens and butts off the seats and arrange to meet and discuss this like real profesionals and stop all this bagging and and petty crap thats going on in these forums.
P.S CAA will NEVER take over TASASCA But we can perhaps work together for the better good of Car Audio comps in Tasmania.
If you at CAA choose not to JOIN or CO-EXIST then may the best association win.
BUT you have no right to Bag and make sladerus comments about our events when you do not even attend them.

OK..... I have attended TASASCA events and I am a TASASCA member. The comps are well run, thanks to hard work and good planning from the organisers. It is truly a unique and great organisation. A year ago Myself and another guy (HRC) in Hobart put our hands up to get a comp running as part of the tri-state series ( pretty much take off where Beau left off ) and TASACSA chose the other guy from HRC.
At a much later date in the year I recieved some event information about a TASASCA Comp being held here in Hobart, I recieved this info from Paul Sice. I was quite astonished that this comp existed as there has been no promotion here in Hobart about it. Paul Sice stated I should ask HRC what is going on and to get myself involved, I did that and asked if they neeed any Help, they said the SQ was sorted, and Adrian (CAI) will be bringing the Linear X RTA, but they need someone to officiate the SPL and they have extinguished all their funds on the SQ trophys and asked If I could sponsor and pay the trophys for the SPL. Myself and Bluedog ran the SPL on the day, and I gave out the trophy's at the end of the day.
So yeomansaints I hardly call that co-ordinating an event!!!!!
There are two sides to every story and I do not have a pet hate for TASASCA, as Paul has offered myself to organise a Hobart Comp due to the dismal failure from HRC, so I do want something to happen doesn't matter CAA or TASASCA, but I just feel that CAA treat their memebrs better than TASASCA treat theirs. As of all the comps that have been held in the north, NO SOUTHERN TASASCA members have been notified, no e-mail, no letter, no phone...... NOTHING

Well your post revealed that you really don't have a clue. Quite a number of discussions were actually had. Instead, we have focused our approach now with motivated industry members in Tasmania who all agree that TASASCA may as well not exist (their words, not mine) and we expect to have a first CAASQ event in Tasmania before end of 2005 (along with two trained judges to cover Tasmania).
Sit back, relax. Take a deep breath. I'll change my nappy and continue dealing with those who seem willing to accept change, and bring Tasmania inline with the rest of Australia and New Zealand.

Will you put your hand up to for the launch of CAASQ and be part of the active members Marc is looking for ............
Do you still think it is a rep's (MY) problem that there is a lack of audio events by CAASQ in TAS, when it is on an organisational level, there have been many discussions of starting CAASQ with myself and the CAA team and the logistics are being arranged as we speak!!!!! Even thou there is little mentioned about it in these forums IT DOES NOT MEAN NOTHING IS HAPPENING!!!!
There is no job description for a State Rep, but our interpretation is, actively getting CAA members information of upcoming events both on a Competition and Social level. Getting new members to sign up tot his great organisation, by going along to many car clubs "Hobart Crusie Club" "Silvia.com" etc to get them invloved in the CAA organisation.
I'm just unsure if you realise what is actually invloved?? Cause the last meeting I organised had heavy commitment by many members and I dont think you were one of them....

I rekon Sunday morning wasn't the best time for most people!!!!
Most young people would be still half pissed and the older crew are stuck looking after the kids
Is the HOT308 allowed to come out on Sundays?
