I have heard some good things about Vifa Tweeters, I am after something smooth and detailed.

They will be running off a PPI ART A200.2 active as ambients so they dont need to be the best tweeters in the world.

I was looking on Advance's website and they have 8 different Vifa tweeters? Which one will suit me as I am confused???

Also, they are sold as singulars on Advance aren't they?

Yes they are sold per unit, not per pair...
I'd probably say the most expensive, but without listening to them it can be tough...
Personally i'd stay away from the metal/alloy dome tweeters and go for a decent silk dome tweeter... But thats just how my ears like it... It's up to your ears to decide what you like.

mmmmm XT25!
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

How would this
http://www.advanceae.com.au/catalog/produc...roducts_id=2477

or this

http://www.advanceae.com.au/catalog/produc...roducts_id=2473

Go?

I'm thinking the first one may be better as it is less directional - ie. harder to pick where the speaker is placed?

Also, would an inline cap for them to play something like 15kz up at 6dbe slop be ok? Do you need to band pass them or can they just use natural roll off for high freqs?

Yep a simple cap will allow them to play from 15khz up, would be good for ambient tweeters.

dont mean to hijack thread.... but just wondering, i have a set of pioneer TS-C1625 splits and i find the metal dome tweeters very harsh at loud volumes... would changing to a set of say vifa silk dome tweeters make it less harsh? would it work with the standard crossover?

Provided your replacement vifa tweeters are of the same ohm rating (it will still work with different ohm but try and match them so the xover point is the same), then yes it will work fine and dandy.
