why does a 'clean' signal help? it doesn't, other than sound nicer. but a 300WRMS 'clean' signal is the same power as a 300WRMS 'highly distorted' signal, both of which the sub will handle fine. also, check out the shape of the signal from music on a cathode ray oscilloscope: all jagged and all over the shop. not 'clean' like a sine wave. so i think that's all a misconception.
coustic amps are very good. something like the 800DB

i agree with shiny. considering that i own 2, 4 channel coustics and a 401db coustic mono block. coustic are well know for their quality and i have never had any problem with their reliability.
my mono block isnt the current model is from the 03/04 line up.

The biggest problem is that the curvature on the top edge is so close to the edge that the sub mounts against. I sealed mine with rubber draft strips really well, but that curvature is a nightmare, and I can hear my sub the instant this spot fails. The tiniest leak takes the sub from pretty damn stunning to average and undefined.
