Yeah this mentality is a strange one - probably harks back in part to PA audio which does suffer alot from running signal cables near power cables. The differences in that application however are so significant that you wouldn't imagine that such ideas crossed over into car audio! .

But hey - it only takes one poorly installed car running poor quality gear to generate noise to make those who think otherwise stand up and say "I told you so".

In any event - if you can run them seperately you may as well (as the gromit through which you run your power wire is unlikely to be located very close to your HU outputs!) But don't worry if towards the boot end the cables start approaching/crossing each other. Shouldn't make a difference.

Sh-t yeah it will be illegal, without an engineers cert. etc, but would be pretty hard to spot it you only shifted them and inch or 2 - so don't tell anyone...

not to hard to do, just heat up the pedal with a blow torch or similar. Be sure to shift the other peds aswell. If you've got access to a welder you can cut the face off the pedal., shift it left and re join. That way the pedal arms can stay straight. I mucked around with this on a POS car I had..wish I hadn't.

Got to weigh up if it's worth it because no doubt it will make it a pain to drive. Get clever with the kicks, sink the speaker deeper / don't go for so much on axis etc.
