Hey,

Thanks to the guys who demo'ed their cars for me @ Freeway today, was good to say hello :).

I've just looked/readup on the JL 12W7 and 12W6V2 subs... I was wondering if anyone has any experience with their SQ and power handling.

I can get a 12W7 for about $600
or a 12W6V2 for about $500

which is right in my price range.

Basically I was gonna get a PG 12 Titanium (not elite), or wait for an IDMAXX to become available cheap 2nd hand... but I've read a LOT of very good things about these JL woofers.

Anyone agree/disagree...?

Is there anywhere in Vic that I can demo one??

Thanks
Jason

One thing I was concerned about was the subs "Qts", as cyberpunky recommended a Qts < 0.4 for an IB setup.... but as I have no experience in this area I am open to suggestion.

damp, 12w7 seem good to me...very cheap too....highly consider it if it is not damage or anything....12w7 should give u enough for both SQ n SPL.

Pyroay> Would u get the JL over the ID for SQ and hard hitting low bass if price were no concern?? and if so, how much extra would you say the JL would be worth if it came down to price.

Basically, I want to buy one of these very soon (now), but the JL is more expensive.

Lets pretend IDMAX $500, JL $750, which is almost correct.

I have 600rms from a xenon amp to pump into it. Which I believe will run either sub very nicely :).

I have only heard the IDMAX which i have found to be awesome. I have bnt Heard the JL and hence can't comment on its performance. It certainly looks well built.

i've heard the JL12w7.....definately goes lower and tighter than the idmax. and they can get really loud. U should able to get decend SQ out of this and able to play loud if you want. If only $250 more over the IDmax i will definately get the JL W7.

for that kind of coin, i'd get the W7 too, purely because it will be cheaper than an ID (if you can get a W7 for $600).

then spend the excess on install or more watts :D
