Bear with me, I haven't lost all my brain cells from my drinking at Wagga. I was talking to Rod today (has competed in am street at Narre) and we were discussing sub boxes. Theoretically, if you were to make a sub box out of a toilet bowl, the shape (all rounded) and the resonant frequency of ceramic (higher than sub frequencies, AFAIK) should make it an ideal candidate for creating a box. It even has a built in port, although you'd seal that off for SQ. Putting aside the hilarity of using a toilet as a sub box, is there any reason why it wouldn't work?

I think Rob's bowl is testament to the functionality of the basic shape.
as for ceramic as a contruction material - should be ok, but if your sub takes a big bass hit, then you may just blow it apart.
port's prolly a bit too long as well.
