i have already chosen the speakers i will be using, focal 100KP's with 165KBE
and a 33KX and have already got them just waiting for install.
looking for some advice on how to run these speakers to get the best out of them,
amps and HU wise, fully active or semi active. my budget is around the 5g mark including install already have the speakers and sound deadening so not including that, open to suggestions and any advise would be really appreciated.
thanks!

or something like an alpine headunit connected to a pxa unit
this of course means u need more amplification channels, but with your budget, that shouldnt really be a problem.
a single mono for the sub ($800)
powerful 2-ch for the kbe's ($600-$800)
good 4-ch for the 100kp's ($500-$700)
headunit (+processor if needed) ($1200)
installation ($1500)

Focal FP4.75 4 x 75wrms for the mids and tweets
Focal FP2.150 2 x 150wrms for the KBE's
Focal FP1.800 1 x 800wrms for the 33KX
I have done this exact setup before but ran it passive with an extra pair of crossovers, so each driver had its own passive crossover but on individual channel of amplification. We did this as the headunit didnt have enough control to run semi or fully active.
I have also ran the same speakers using the Audison amps instead. LRx6.9 for the speakers and LRx1.1K for the sub. The built in crossovers on the Audison LRx6.9 allow you to run fully active without the need for an external processor.
Both setups sounded great but I would say the Focal amps slightly had the edge. It may have been the amps but it could have been that the Audison setup needed a bit more fine-tuning.
With your budget there would be so many combo's you could go with but these were two that worked well.

biggest concern atm is the HU, the place im getting all the equipment from only really has alpine, eclipse and pioneer so iv been looking at the 9887 or the CD 7200 MK2 not sure which 1 and if needed processor to go with.
thanks!

i would still look at getting a processor though - just so much more flexibility. (alpine headunit + pxa processor, or pioneer p9 headunit+processor combo...though i think the pioneer combo might be a little too $$ even with ur budget)
the current eclipse amps are great, so no reason why the new ones wont be just as good if not better.
audiosystem amps are also very good
for alpine amps, i personally wouldnt consider the pdx amps, rather i would try and get an mrv-f545 and mrd-m1005
focal amps, see dual mono's reply...would be very good

Been down that path before (active 3 way fronts + sub) and i find semi active 3 ways are a lot more fun and easier..
i'm running my front stage semi active and its almost perfect.. Consisting of:
- 9887 (in 3 way mode)
- 100kp (passive)
- 165kbe (active)
- 2x Eclipse XA4000 (front stage in bridged mode)
- 33v2 off XA1000..
in all honesty, you'd possibly be better off trying to get your hands on a Rockford Fosgate 360.2...
and keep your screen & interface as im not sure how it all works.. but if a deck is a definite, i'd go the Alpine over Eclipse.. but thats just me..
