Heard them in a car three times (System 220GT twice, System 240 once) and in an extremely well setup listening room twice (back to back with several other high end speakers).

In the listening room gave the best representation of each speakers ability due to consistent environment and shared components (source, amps etc were identical).

That's a fair audition..

Will give these some more time, and have a crack at tuning when i get time, just some minor adjustments to try and get more balanced sound as those mids are a bit hard at the moment.. hopefully the factory trim doesn't change the sound too much.

How are they set up / installed?

Don't want to take over this thread too much, but if could toss me a P.M. with some details on installation (angles, positions, etc) and settings (passive, active, crossovers, etc) and which component set you have (242, 342, 362, etc) then I might be able to take a quick stab at what eq settings might work for you.
