MEASQ 2008 Change of Class Structure

New Class Structure:
Intermediate
Expert
Show
What this means is you can compete in either Intermediate or Expert, and elect whether you want to be judged additionally for Show.
Basically we've combined all the show side of judging, into one class based soley on Show. You must compete in either Intermediate or Expert to be elegible to compete in the show class if you want your installation / display judged.
We will be putting this into effect as of the coming Round 3 event.

We've decided to adopt it Australia wide, and is a positive step forward we feel.

and also evens out the playing field, as well as making it easier for show judges..
ALTHO.. how will an "intermediate" show competitor be judged against "expert" with different levels of finish?
because i know previously, they were supposedly judged on 2 different standards...

i can see the reasons for the rule, however I'm still not sure how this will encourage people with an amateur show install, built and finished at home on a limited budget, to enter and "grow" this aspect of the sport.
I do however see the need to push quality installs as much as possible, as the more competitors in any discipline (spl/SQ/show etc) with nicer rides, the more people we are likely to attract as both competitors and spectators.

Luckily this coincides with my recent cleaning up of the install and making a few changes... Looks like 1st place would be harder than ever now

The WA judges are yet to collaborate an opinion on the new rules yet. We are meeting this weekend. As for series points NoOg, we will work out a system to ensure past efforts have not been lost.
