Hi All,

Currently using the elate 6 set and looking to upgrade the tweeters. I will be using the existing elate crossover which marty will modify to lower the crossover point for the supremo's.

Extract from the morel website
"The Supremo tweeters handle low-mid frequencies with ease. The low resonance point – Supremo at 680Hz , and Supremo Piccolo at 800Hz - enables a lower crossover point, which provides installers with greater system design flexibility, enhanced soundstage and imaging."

The original supremo has a lower fs compared to the piccolo but the piccolo is a newer design and is also more compact. the tweeters will be going into the kick panel of 95 accord.

Please help me choose from one of the two

If you can fit the supremo go for it. piccolo's would be good for limited space, ie dash/a pillar. But for kick panel go the supremo.

Anthony,

Can you please expand your reasoning? Is it because of the lower fs or something more?

I think i can fit the supremo's in the kicks, need to make up a spacer for the left side as the ecu takes up the space behind left kick.

thanks

Better dispersion and less breakup then the piccolo's. Installation comes into though. Even in the kicks you still need to find the right angle of the dangle and so forth for best sound. A little tip. Try and put the tweeter as far away from you as possible in the kicks. Behind the woofer a little if you can. But make sure the dash isn't blocking it from the listening position.

You planning on moving your fuse box from the drivers side? You will have to construct a new drivers side kick panel of sorts as the door that hides the fuses/box is attached to the fusebox, move the fuse box and you have a very big hole with nothing to mount anything to.

I'm not 100% sure if the supremo's will fit in the kicks. The right side kick door does have some allowance and i will need to use a spacer as well or end up with the piccolo's.

I know you also have a cd5 from ozhonda, have you tried fitting the supremo's with out relocating the fuse box?

As for why i have them in the kicks, I've listened to a few cars at fhrx and liked the wider stage of provided when installed in the kicks and i still have the stage height i like

hey im running a supremo/elate setup, running active though and absolutely love it, i got mine a-pillar mounted, in an '03 euro, if you can get them on the correct angle/axis in the kicks then id definately got for the full sized supremo, but as mentioned, the space is limited so the piccolo might be the better option, i havn't heard the piccolo personally so id say if you can install it properly go the full size, if not, go the piccolo, im sure you'll be extremely happy either way
team no audio in the car cos im a sh*t bloke

I agree, it is a very nice combo. A friend and I got our splits around the same time and he went with the same combo as yours with modified elate crossover.

I wish i did too :( as the price has gone up considerably over the last year or so.

Keep the comments coming guys. Phil (RMA), I hope you see this thread and offer your opinion as I'm sure you'd have insiders info on both of them

I'll let you know when I finish my install about kicks.
Marty knows my fuse box is no longer exists in the kick location, no room for speakers without moving it, other goodies are going there, 3way setup...
