it doesnt have a capacity limit, as i have read of people using 80gb 2.5" hdds with it. it DOES however have a limit on the number of files and folders. its in the manual somewhere....from memory, its about 4000 files?

Great information Spyne. I suspect it is in fact the quality of my 16GB stick that is the issue, if I have another USB device connected when I plug the 16GB stick in the computer slows right up and almost freezes. I'm beginning to think that it wis drawing too much current and affecting performance.

Great news about the Ext Drive also, I have had this asked on another forum and no-one has a definitive answer.

I should be able to comment on the Freq Sweep very soon, once I resolve an issue.

I hope its ok to ask a question about the HU in this area. Im looking at purchasing the CD7200, but I am really in need of a HU that has a slide down/tilted face, Ive tried watching vids on youtue but none of the showed it operating with the face open at all. The reason that I am after a slide angled face is because of my car, it a GQ patrol and the HU sits very low and behind the transfer case stick so a flat faced HU is prety hard to see properly. Does this unit have a slide down/tilted face

Thanks
Brendan

Not sure of the exact answer to your question. From memory i dont think it does. I think it only has the swing down face when you eject the CD, but im not sure if you can operate the unit with it like that. Wait for some 7200 owners to reply. :)

Alternatives though, that DO offer tilt adjustable faces, that have similar tuning features to the 7200 include, Alpine CDA-9813, 9815 (2003/04), 9833, 9835 (2004/05) and 9853R, 9855R (2005/06).

Has anyone had any issues while using a USB drive? It works fine but it sometimes stops playing the song and then skips through all the songs but starts playing again when i disconnect and connect again.

Anyone else on the same boat and have found a solution?

Seems to work fine for my iPhone. Only issue is that when i turn the ignition off, the iPhone needs to be reconnected before music begins to play. Bluetooth function also works fine with the iPhone but does not bring up the contacts listing on the screen.

jaykan2k > i've not had that issue with the usb, but everytime the usb is used for extended periods (say >30mins) it will skip for a second, but go back to playing normally.
try hitting the reset button on the deck - this is what i had to do when the unit stopped recognising usb sticks

I've used my iPhone with BT audio and to be honest it's horrible. I originally thought it was my MP3's, but ripped Dire Straights in lossless onto the iPhone and the highs are still shaped and sounds very rough.

I have similar with the USB in that occassionally when first turned on it will drop one channel for a second and pick both back up after that and it's fine from then on.

I haven't bought a IPC-106 yet as I have heard they won't charge the iPhone, which bothers me as the iPhone battery life is poor at the best of times.

I just got a CD7200 with IPC-106. Haven't installed it yet as I need more stuff to complete the system. The dealer said it wont charge the newer iPods - iPod Touch/iPhone - due to Apple changed the voltage from 12 volts to 5 volts and the charge output on the IPC-106 is 12v. You can, however, buy a little plug in adaptor with a voltage reg giving you 5v for the newer units.
The particular shop I was at had the adaptor for about $50.
