Hi Guyz........

I used to have 2x Alpine type S fitted into 1.5cube sealed box and ran by 1 Alpine M500 mono block.......It's sound great until I have a evil thought about R type Subs..........I got rid of the S type subs and box to purchase another 2 x R type with extra M500 mono block( Now I got 2 mono block M500 running 2 R tye. My car audio guyz recommened the new system now should have ported box,I am not too convince but he keep saying that ported box sound alot better.Well,I picked put my car couple day ago and not happy ( too loud, the bass not tight and clean as my previous set up)with the sound with the new system at all( eventhough I spent truck load of money for R type sub and extra amp M500) and I wish I could have my S type subs in seal box...............What have I done wrong????? should I change back to seal box???All my subs are 12 inches
Reading this topic is made me more confuse.
Thanks for all advise

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Hi.........
Thank you for ur response.......at the moment the diamension of my porter box as follow.
Dual 12” ported MDF Subwoofer enclosure!

Volume: 2.24 cuft / 63.53 cult

Dimensions: 360mm H x 945mm W x 380mm D

the porters(2) located at the center of ther box and they face toward back seat(i.e porter and subs face at the same direction).
At the moment I started to get tired of trying,it's cost too much and I am disapointed with the bass I got.The R type do not delivered tight and clean bass as expected and another thing............the amp sometime switched off itself and on amp screen display E-3.I checked on the manual and it said that amp switched off due to too much current flooded the 2 monoblock( both are Alpine M500)...........
I just wish to have the old set up. i.e 2 S type driven by 1 M500 in seal box.......................if I remember correctly(and confirmed by my little brother)the old set up have more tight bass and sound better than current set up...............................very dissapointed.................................I prepare to change to another Sub..............do u have any suggestion??????? I was thinking of Focal Utopia 33 WX 13 inch X2......................
this is my complete setup at the moment
IVA -D900 head unit
front stage Focal 165V slim
rear stage 165 V spit
2x R type in ported box
Alpine F540 to drive speakers
2x M500 amp
All above installed in Lexus ES300.
Also....the car audio guy reckon if I install a sound processor unit made by Maxx Bass then I would put smile on my face.................I not too sure that I can trusted him any more..........( he said it would cost 300 aud plus labour)
Please give me some advise.

I apology for my english...............as English is not my first language and I just migrated to Australia only 4 yrs ago.

Kind regards
