So ya gotz posted to the Ville eh? HAHA!!! Welcome to the club!!! There ain't much around I'm afraid, and there isn't many comps around T'ville either.
Russ Adams is probably the only independant car audio bloke in town, after Craig collins closed down.
You've got Strathfields, Autobarn, WOW, JB Hifi, and if your really desperate you can go to Repco, or (my personal favorite) Supercheap....
Ummm.... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news....

At the moment I'm in Coffs Habour...waiting patiently for some mates to get out of bed so we can head back out to the beach.
Ha!! I guess being in the Army means your conditioned to get out of bed at sparrow's fart no matter how horrid you feel!!!
I'm posted at 5 Avn workshops at the RAAF base, which is probably where I'll be for the next couple of years...
Townsville has a fair amount of night scene activities, but most of the car audio comps and overall "flavour" is SPL over SQ type setups in cars, which can get a bit boring...
I reckon Cairns probably has more going on in the car audio scene than what Townville has, simply because there ain't any shops to help promote the scene locally. There used to be "John Collins" car audio in town, but I noticed that he must of closed business. I was over in the Gan for 6 mths while this happened, so I didn't get to ask whether he's moving house or if he's gone for good.

But back in the days the Car Audio Scene was really good there as you had BCS (Brisbane car Sound) JCCCS (John Collins Car Sound) and Russ Adams now last i heard all you got is WOW (former BCS Installers) and Russ Adams oh and Autobarn would be the only likly Car Audio Shops now adays however as richard said Northfield are only a phone call away.
Hope you love the heat oh and the rain

If you know of any shops that I dont, feel free to post them up. Every shop i've been into so far either dont have a clue what their doing or just choose not to participate in anything thats outside of their little shops bubble...
The only independent place here 'russ adams' told me that they will never get involved in outside competitions cause they dont like the competitors that "just wanna break stuff". "That would be SPL" says I. "What about Sound quality comps"... "oh, we just build our own cars and leave it at that."
Needless to say, the shop was empty, and the best thing they sold there were Alpine Type'R's. Even there 'Demo' car, which she was happy to show off, was only sporting a full Type-R setup from 2006....
Pretty disappointing....
