You setup a new system, with quite a few variables (3 way active) and with your years of skill, knowledge and experience, set everything up.

You listen, it sounds OK. You tinker some more, it still sounds "OK" ... but nothing like full expected potential.

Then late at night, in the dark you decide to just give a quick tweak to crossovers and gains, and hmmmm, it sounds amazing, literally doing it blind!

Oh well .... just goes to show something. Not sure what that is yet, but at least it sounds good now :)

LOL

the eunos i was never happy with, but the best setting up was usually when i was drunk and it was dark.

thing sounded amazing!

i used to sit there in the dark, with something over my eyes and i knew my HU well enough to navigate though the xovers and EQ without needing to look.
Best way to tune IMO
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

Careful, fiddling with your knob too much will yield you blind permanently.

Pffft, sif. That run of the mill gear is easy to tune. It's like playing Michael Jackson - you know it will sound good.
The real challenge is getting superior gear to sound good, as it is expert equipment! :P:p:p

Disclaimer: Mobile Electronics Australia does not necessarily believe Dynaudio, Morel and Alpine are really run of the mill gear!
