No i mean when the car is actually driving im sure you can hook it up so the player constantly plays ive done it before with other units. Thats what i want i want while im driving to be abel to watch music clips for example an dlisten to music from the usb drive

What you're referring to is actually illegal :( Having clips etc playing is a distraction and if found will likely void insurance claims. Nevertheless, it can be bypassed by grounding the handbrake wire so that you can watch video whilst the car is moving/hand brake disengaged. Credit doesn't go to me for this - there is an epic thread on the 502e and halfway in there TEGBOY confirms that it can be done :) The us models (505r iirc) have to use the TR7 bypass to achieve the same result.

Wisdom you are right it is illegal but ive had my current TV and dvd player hooked up the same way by earthing the handbreak wire for the pat 3 years and if caught a hefty fine and more is the rsult of this. But if the unit can do this then for me its a sure winner without having the need for 3 source units like a currently have eg a cd player a tv and a seperate dvd player.

Cheers gents for your feed back

Yeh you can if you are installing it yourself but if getting a store to do they probably wont install it unless the handbrake wire is hooked up as is illegal and can get the store into alot of trouble. Also if you have an accident and the dvd is playing probably wont be covered by insurance either. But enough of the lecture Posted Image !!!! Yes there is a way to do it.

This screen now has a new part number.
It is now the IVA-W502EBT meaning that bluetooth and i-pod video lead are now included for $1899.
Bluetooth is the KCE-250BT (using parrot technology) and i-pod lead the KCU-450iV

was going to ask.. if an iphone is plugged in via the USB connection, and the phone rings, does the system mute? or can that only be used via the bluetooth addons?

Sorry to burst your bubble. But, we could never recommend an "eBay special" unit. The Alpine is a quality unit, through and through. Quality costs. I love mine. The ebay ones, have no support, no warranty and usually questionable build quality and basically are POS. You will find many shops now, refuse to fit them. As they become a pain, becuase they have to be removed, when inevitablly they fail. This then reflects on the shop

That is unless your a Bot? 1 post and linking an ebay link? This is some of the feedback from a purchaser of that unit "this unit was rubbish and he lied about location it was sent from china"

yes it might have been my first post but i have had this for 4 months not a problem.. and at time of purchase i asked how the warrenty works and was told to send it bac to them and they would fix it.

i have fitted the for friends and they havent had a problem yet, and 1 of the cars was a 1979 chrysler sigma, it works and sounds greart

The 502 has now been discontinued and is replaced by the IVAW520. Further to this alpine have just release an all in unit with nav and bluetooth built in.
