Amplifiers are a commodity. Buying more expensive amps for perceived sound output is horse$hit.

Buy what you can afford. Even well priced amps these days are fairly good.

another vote for the jl 1000/1. very, very solid amp that (mine anyway) doesnt get hot. very stable power supply, the puts out close to 1200wrms @ 2ohm
