i decided to wipe the system last night and redo the whole tuning from scratch, what i was wondering is whats the best way to go about the new setup?

I was thinking that the best way to go about this what resetting all the gains and x-overs 1st then go from there with the eq and ta, so what order of doing this will yield the best results? and will the order of tuning affect the end outcome???

You might find it best to start fresh Andrew.

I prefer to set gains and crossover as you say. Then work on the TA and once I'm happy with that move over to the EQ and 'possibly' a TA tweak after this.

I have found also that when setting EQ the approach that you take takes have a large difference on the end results.

I'd lose some gear and make the system alot less complicated!!!!

Theres gotta be days worth of full-time tuning in your current system Andrew!!

I see what you mean, I wouldn't know where to start. lol

After the h/u is back to scratch. Maybe start with the mid bass, then tweeters, then slowly bring in the mid range. Then sub bass?

RTA is really a last resort - when everything else is 'pretty good' it can help to neaten-up the sound.

I start with crossovers, then levels. adjusting TA and crossovers again to get the phase right between the drivers.

EQ is last, but watch that the EQ doen't throw the phase/TA off again - back to the start when that happens.

i could lose some gear but when i was running it all passive i was finding i couldn't time align it properly with the drivers in their positions, i prefer to have that ability to ta the individual channels.
In regards to the xovers and level matching the drivers thats all done, i'm still contemplating whether i should go back to the graphiceq or finally have a play around with the parametric, i never touched the parametric b4 so i have no idea how to go about it, prob listen and listen some more.
