i would tell you guys my story. around 8 years ago, i used to live in Thornbury. one day, I brought my dynaudio 5.5 inch component with me, tried to install into my 1986 Honda accord. Just let everyone know, my component is old fashion one with 2 inch tweeters, now is 1 inch.
On the appointment day, I was supposed to give them the car at 9. but i was late(half hour), nevermind. they started the job anyway.
I pickup my car at around 5, but i found that they put my tweeters in the front door panels, 5.5 midbass at rear panel under the rear windscreen, remember that is 4 door sedan. Can you believe it??????
I asked me why, and he said that speakers are not for car use. not 4 ohm speakers!!!!
Can anyone tell me what ohms of the speakers by out looking (ha ha)???
And then i asked him to do it for me again, but he said it's too late to fix it and asked me to book another time. Of course he asked for more money because more job needed to be done.
I felt really angry and upset. He said I was late in the morning and felt not happy. the thing is, if they needed more time, they can ask, I don't mind to leave him the car for another day. but they just want to stop here and kick me out.
Can you imagine the tweeter in the front door, midbass at the rear, how is it sound? unbelieveable. it seems like they have no knowledge on component system.
Then I went the another Gary's in bell street. In advertising, it was described as head office. So i went there, they tested the speakers for me and said it runs around 5 ohms, so it is good for car use. What's the point to test the speakers. They knew nothing.
I asked them to fix the problem for me, of course, again, they asked for money. no matter whose fault it was.
The only one thing I felt good is the attitude of the bell street' staff. compare with preston store, at the end they started want to push me, try to scary me.
I wish no other members has negative experience like mine.
