i'm currently having a slight dilemma working out what aspect of my system i should upgrade next. at the moment run 3 way morel elates off a bridged JL 300/4 amp.

possible upgrades are:

adding another 300/4 bridged to run the elate crossovers bi-amped and semi-active as i think the coil is consuming a fair amount of the power. this would result in the mids and tweets getting 150wrms a side, and the midbass getting 150wrms a side, or:

replacing my morel mt37's with supremos

both would be in the same ball park price wise. i guess an advantage of the extra amp would be i could then run the splits active sometime in the future.

what do you guys think would be the better option?

factor in the fact it will take a bit of time to get an active setup tuned properly to your taste

change your sub :D i think it was the only thing that the car needed :) the front stage sounds awesome!
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

My current phass tweeters are different but just as good.

ohh dont say that :) - i had been tossing up ideas of idmaxs of w6v2s or something else along those lines, but had been thinking that for sq could get away with a lower end sub because its turned down a fair bit and only carrying a small part of the freq spectrum.

Check your impedance. I recall my older series Supremo's were 6 ohm. If this differs from your current setup, that'll throw out your crossover. Not saying it'll sound terrible, but something to consider.

I think I'm a little over supreme setups :(

6 months with a new car, and I've got an amp and a set of front speakers.

Or I could just be lazy.

thats cool dasherhalo - both mt37s and supremos are 6ohm and the crossover is made for them.

i think i might have to take you up on that offer damo - would be a good chance to hear the difference between the two in a back to back test.
