This season has certainly been the most enjoyable to organise from my perspective and without doubt our most successful season yet. This is thanks to a great team on the VIC committee - Alan, Simon, Danny, Blankie and Damo, and of course Ness also, and Tess for their assistance as well. Not to mention the members who simply lend a hand at the events themselves, you know who you are; the first there and usually the last to leave. It definitely goes noticed, and I certainly appreciate it. We give up our time a couple of night a month for committee meetings, and of course the days of the comps, and the organising in between.
Then there are the judges, Simon, Sam, Brett, Dave, Danny, Adam, Blankie - whom without them there would be competition at all. These guys often go unthanked for their tiresome, long days. They don't get to socialise, chill out or enjoy the days activities. I for one know what it is like having judged with Bruce, every car, in every class in every state at one stage!
There is quite a lot to putting together these events, not to mention the support from our sponsors and industry members this season, Stinger, Polk Audio, Hybrid Audio, Craig at Autobarn Narre Warren, Mordialloc Skateworld, Sam and Brett from Phatt Audio, Brett from Performance Car Audio, and anyone else who I may have forgotten.
All in all, we managed to step it up a notch this year in my opinion. It has been noticed and some genuine interest has been expressed from the industry in what it is we do in the last few weeks. This combined with the many changes coming to the 2010 season and organisation will see us take it yet another step.
Considering I had a meeting with the now committee members prior to the 2009 season commencing, to express my thoughts of giving it away this year (yes, true), I now have a completely different outlook on it all and renewed enthusiasm like never before. Thanks to you ...
Finally, the competitors. Some of you take it very seriously, some just love the social aspect. No matter what your intention for supporting MEASQ are, it makes it what it is and without that we wouldn't have the stories to tell, awards to give out, or the most important criteria of all, the fun and enjoyment. So thanks to all the competitors who made the effort to support MEASQ in Victoria this year.
I can promise you an even more exciting and rewarding season in 2010, and hope to see each of you at the first round!
